I and my friend are planning on going the LTL route simply because of the money. I understand it is a hard work and you have to earn every penny. Our goal for the first two years is to make as much as possible and then possibly switch to tankers which very much interests me. Can We as a team start with tankers and make better than LTL?
LTL for a newbie?

Tanker and LTL the same...you all runnin 11 to 14's, sure you'll take home 1100 a week...but...if you math it out your runnin at the rate of 16.66 an hour...
which is no biggie..
I did both, 2 years each...liked the work, hated the hours..Kept thinking of the actual hourly conversion, that kept pissing me off...
However, I did see L/O as a awesome opportunity in LTL..Taking home basically double your company pay...If your truck seizes up on your first night, or 93rd night, you can climb right back in a company rig..
Be picky!! Find your company man...They all have thier qwirks
Sure wish Id Ltl'd it when I was a youngin....good luck man, you can get on in any city where they are desperate oftenly...Other than that, NO !!! You cannot, go get a swift truck and suck it up for a year boy!!!shir1 Thanks this. -
BTW. we are looking at becoming O/O ASAP. More risk but more opportunity as well.Last edited by a moderator: Sep 16, 2015
