LTL in Quad Cities, IA/IL

Just curious if any of our helpful forum members are familiar with Estes or Dayton Freight barns in this area. (Davenport/ East Moline)

I put out feeler applications months ago to OD and Estes and only heard back from Estes for a regional position that never yielded anything as the recruiter and i played phone tag for a week (they always called when i was driving)

Im starting to have the itch to get off the road, I wouldnt mind doing regional if the moneys right however what i average after 2 years cpm is what the better ltl companies starts out at.

Ive toyed with ideas with other areas such as tankers and done the research but in the end i think i may like ltl better.

Any insight is appreciated. Ive done countless hours of forum reading about pay scales etc etc but when looking up reviews for the area, there isnt much. Kind of like the old saying no news is good news.

 

I havent seen much on SF. I think they are union but i could be wrong. My brother called today and said Air Land had an advertisement he had seen. So ill have to see if there is anything i can find.

 

Dohrn recruited out of the college and didnt do that great of a presentation. Didnt sound to terrible but they dont pay OT. However i came across someone saying they do after 4 years of service. However im not sure if thats true.

 

i called before i submitted it however they didnt call back. Seen linehaul and p&d positions open for some time after but nothing as of recent.
