Ltl to water hauling

Well, I went from LTL linehaul, to hauling fuel here in Midland. Gave up 13 1/2 yrs, 3 years from 3 paid weeks vacation, #3 on the board. Sold home in wisc. and moved the shooting match to west Texas. Best thing I ever did. I now do all my working days, not nights. T he first full year here my pay was what I made after all those years of driving in blizzards, ice, fog so thick you barely could see the bulldogs butt in front of you.
I don't miss linehaul one bit. I worked for one of the better LTL outfits there is.

I think what you really mean is your don't miss the 6 months of winter in Wisconsin one bit. If you had your linehaul gig in the Southwest or California, I am sure you would know what I am getting at

 

The weather was a factor, but more so was the working nights. I just got plain sick and tired of being sick and tired!
And the fact that my employer at the time was getting in the nasty habit of allowing p+d drivers to jump to linehaul board, and bump as daytime linehaul runs were created.
