As I understand it....
You will see a lower oil temp when using Lucas. The reason for this is that oil is supposed to help cool the engine by absorbing heat. It's running cooler because the oil CAN'T absorb heat with the additive.
If it was REALLY helping, you'd see a slight increase in oil temp.
I wish I could explain it to the level that Rebel127 can. We talked about oils last week over lunch out in CT. FASCINATING discussion....

I have also seen units when the oil pan plug fell out, one went 94 seconds after the last sign of oil preasure he was pulling a long hill and took it out of the way, I had to clean up one main bearing,it turned. I replaced them all and he was on his way. When you talk about an aditive saving an engine it reminds me of Prolong, it ended up being red dye and mineral oil. The other units had absolutly no damage, they got a bearing roll in, because we were in there.
No miracles, no divine intervention, just 15/40 Delo 400. -
According to the guys at the BITOG forum.......Lucas does not have any anti foaming additives so using it causes air bubbles to be present which trap air and thus, heat, causing an increase in oil temps when using Lucas.
The one time I used the stuff, I did notice higher than normal oil temps. -
I used Lucas for many years until I found No Mor Friction. It is expensive but is worth every penny. Check them out and watch the videos he has. The last time I spoke to him. they were working on putting it on the shelves at TA/Petro
