Had to blow as hard as I could into a tube until I heard a beep and then continue blowing for what seemed like 30 sec. All the while keeping the beep going. Passed but on the low side.

Yikes that's something to think about.
I remember when I was at school, yeah I can remember that far back, I was about 15 yrs old and we were in the chemistry lab doing a lesson.
Teacher wanted to show us something. Now bear in mind the UK has about 3 times as many smokers as over here.
Every man and his dog seems to smoke but the teacher pulled out a cigarette and rigged it up onto this machine.
Then the machine proceeded to "smoke" this cigarette really quickly. It took it about 30 secs down to the filter tip
BTW the smoke was directed into a glass conical flask full of cotton wool.
After just one cigarette, the cotton wool had turned yellow.
It was an amazing experiment and one I will never forget. Makes you wonder what color your lungs are after years of smoking. When you quit for good,the experts reckon it takes about 10 yrs for the lungs to go back to normal.
Needless to say I never did smoke.
