Where I am we do mostly ag products. Corn and soybean oil to feed stores or food places. Molasses to cattle ranches. Fertilizer and round up to dealers. I prefer those customers over large chemical plants. Chem plants go by appt and have lots of rules and PPE requirements. Usually have to watch a safety video and take a test before going in. And they take about 2-3 hours. And don't even think of smoking in your truck! Almost always u must shut the truck off and surrender keys. Sometimes they even make u wait outside the truck.

They still beat grocery warehouses though

That sounds WAY LESS STRESSFUL now that you mention these products. I'm guessing you did dairy too, no?

No we don't do dairy. Heard the flies get thick at those pick ups!

Have you ever heard of QLF (quality liquid feeds)? I'm not sure how big they are but I've pulled loads out of their terminals and BOY would they be a nice outfit to drive for. They haul their own feed products (molasses) that they make at their terminals. Drivers park on the scale, grab paperwork, and load themselves. 45 minutes tops. Then head to either a large ranch or a feed store. Unload will take 1-1.5 hours. Everything easy both ends, no waiting around or washing out, country driving on back roads. Sounds nice

I am fairly happy there. Mostly nice trailers, and they answer the phone.

@cuzzin it Since you actually work for Altom, some questions:

    1) Do they run all 48 states, a true OTR tanker company?
    2) Do they have DRIVER-FACING cameras?
    3) When I see how SUPER NICE the equipment is, I think that cut's into drivers' pay. Does this seem to be the case here? (IE I'm getting paid peanuts, but at least I look good amirite?)

I talked to them last year and I've talked to a lot of company guys. For a company driver, it's a pretty good job. Top equipment and good pay. (Local guys say their making $90+ and otr guys are getting a little better then that if you're willing to work) For an O/O, I turned them down. Pay is all over the board and I didn't like their accessory pay.

Foxzell and cuzzin it Thank this.
