Hi. I'm trying to figure out what the commercial equivalent of a Freightliner M916 would be. Or any other stock highway truck that meets these specs...

    Detroit Diesel Series 60
    Hendrickson 340 Suspension
    Rockwell FF/FG Axles
    Allison Transmission
    2" Holland Hitch

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you looking to 'add' something on to a mil spec vehicle that you are assigned too or are you looking for a road truck that is spec'd like a 916? A severe duty FLD is spec'd about the same, at least the 2003 SD FLD that we have is, but its not a DD, its a DOHC Cummins. No one likes to drive it b/c its too rough and its an automatic so its just the 'spare'

Do you need those parts exactly or just similar? Thats a pretty standard gravel pit tractor set up.

Most likely you'd find a Cat with the Allison though.

Just a brief look at truckpaper turned up like a T8 and W9 that needed a fifth wheel, several Mack 713s, some Pete 379s...

Actually I just got some "general mechanics" kits which included tooling for those specific items. Cross referencing the mil specs lead me to believe they were issued for the M916. I was just curious what kind of comm trucks might need this stuff rather than having to split it all up. Thanks.
