Dear Readers today Sunday 6th of November 2016, around 2:15 pm driving home from church on highway US 27 heading south I had one the worst nightmare experience ever, there is a section of us 27 in Clermont, Florida that is under construction I was driving a mini van with enough clearance ahead of me for over a mile, I could see the road will narrow into one lane I was already on that left lane since all the construction cones were on the right lane well there was this truck driver from Mabe Trucking cutting my off obligating me to hit the brakes and forcing me to get on the island irresponsibility putting my family and I in danger but sometimes bad apples travel together what do you know right behind there was another truck driver from Mabe Tracking trying to "sandwich" me, I mean his right lane was already blocked by the cones and he thought he could intimidate me with his big truck, I have the whole thing in video and I will be going to the police to file charges against the drivers and the company
Mabe Trucking Drivers, worst experience

If you were in the left lane he was in the right lane. If you can see the right lane, his lane, is ending why not back off and give him room to get over?
The only reason to cut you off was lack of space. I'm sure you tried to pass him and he knew there wasn't the space.
When you intentionally try and keep a truck in a lane that is ending it tends to irritate us. If another truck got behind you and wanted to give you a close up of his grill it's a further illustration of my point.
I'm sorry your family was upset by what happened. You have to remember that the safety of your family lies first and foremost with you. Your actions have consequences and right or wrong you have to live with that.
Of course I wasn't there and I could be completely wrong in my wonderings, but I have been in and seen this situations many many times and often the truck is not the only one at fault.mdgrimmett, Boattlebot, LGarrison and 7 others Thank this. -
Just think about the consequences your actions may carry
Be well, be save!!!Lonesome Thanks this. -
Most of the time both parties are wrong in this situation, but he is the proffesional, and should of let you pass. Honestly tho, I know what you tried to do, next time either speed up or slow down. Its really that simple.
CrappieJunkie, Lonesome and KillingTime Thank this. -
OP, not all drivers are created equal. Not all training is sufficient. Overall I'm glad you and yours are okay and my only suggestion where it concerns traveling around semis is to either hustle on by or fall back. You don't want to linger in that space, when you do - things like this happen. -
In addition the stand your ground law applies to homes, not the highway(if anything FHP would consider this an "aggressive driving or road rage incident").Just as much as those truck drivers are responsible for operating their vehicles in a safe manner you are responsible for the same with your vehicle. Too many times I've seen regular vehicles try to race and beat an 18 wheeler to a construction zone with one lane, only to get caught in the 18 wheeler's blind spot, with tragic consequences. If the truck does cut you off then report the company, license plate number and truck/trailer number.

I have incidents on daily basis where cars dont yeild, cut in front of me and hit their breaks, and running me off the road. Its very hard for me to defend cars by just stories from the internet. Show us that video and we'll tell you if its even worth for you to report it. Truckers are a bunch of crazies too, but I rarely have problems with them.

You need to post the video here. So we all can see what is what. If you did not make room for a semi to get over because he's losing his lane to construction then you and semi are guilty of the same problem.
The showing of grill is rare. But does happen when very specific motives are met and requires such.
Im not defending or condoning certain behaviors that are reckless. But My advice to you is post the darn video and let us take a look at it. I promise you you might or might not get answers you seek and will get a education.
Im not your enemy. But people who willfully place family in harms way by staying put and asserting their road becomes in effect a danger to the family. It's a waste. There is no problem with a steel front bumper to nudge such a bully off to the side. it's that easy and leaves no marks. I rather not. -
Boattlebot, dancecanyon, Luke628 and 4 others Thank this.

There are some states that provide a vehicle is part of castle doctrine, there is no POINT in arguing about this yea or nay online. There a thousand ways to break a law with a gun by mistake and not everyone is going to know em all.
Firearms and vehicles is a part of a law in which people get consumed in the court because they do not train nor study the nuances of the law around public roadways, motor vehicle etc.
You can have a thousand stand your grounds to stop a nut case semi driver boring down on you at 70. SO you shoot him Fatal T, instant death, you still have a problem fo 40 ton out of control maybe hazmat too. Pour can of tomato puree onto the blacktop, that what happens to a human under 40 ton.
