So a couple years ago I was in a car accident. Finally I am getting a settlement from the insurance company and can afford to get a new computer. I have had laptops with Windows all along, but have always wanted a MacBook since I first using a friend's. Money was always the one hold up and now it's not.
So I basically just want to hear from people who have had Macs or switched from PC to Mac. Are you happy? Has anyone switched back? Are they that much easier to use as all my friend's who have one say they are?
I'm not interested in being talked into other Windows alternatives. I'm not a gamer. I don't do a lot of business stuff. Most of my usage is movies, music and internet. I love my iPhone, I'm sure I'll love a Mac too.

I'm a PC person myself. Hubby has a mac that a friend of ours sold him. He doesn't like the selection of games on the mac. He says there isn't much difference between the two for the most part, other than the software availability.

PC, well because you get more for your buck.

More time fixing
More time tweaking
More time debugging
More money buying peripherals
More Viruses
More Spyware
Yep, you get lots more with a PC -

The only downside is that I can't run new software off the shelf, but there are thousands of programs I can run, and 99% of them are absolutely free, just like my OS. -
Don't need to buy too much for my puters. I rarely have problems with any of my pc's, contrary to the message of the commercials, etc. -

I have always wanted to give a Mac a shot as well, but I have had people tell me that if you are use to a PC that going to a Mac will be very frustrating for you to navigate and learn, however I am not thoroughly convinced that is true.

MT - it's not that frustrating. Once you get use to how to get around on the things, it's not much different at all.
So much of the software that I already own is for PC that I stick with them to make things easier for me. That, and I can get a pc much cheaper than a mac for my uses, including graphics and photography.Mastertech Thanks this. -
