Anybody running aftermarket cb antennas?

JJ, I've got a Cobra 29Ltd Classic that's been peaked and tuned that is dead keying 8 watts and swings 24 watts. I'm using 2 FireSticks that were given to me. The factory antennas couldn't handle even the small wattage increase without the antenna light lighting up.

 

Which firesticks? That'd what I'm thinking about running.

Is it as simple as replacing antennas? I'm trying to research it but looks like I need rosetta stone because it's a different language. Lol

 

What kind of truck do you have? I've always used my own coax going to my own antennaes and mounts.

Yeah. Not looking to redo any wiring but if I can replace the antennas & it help, I will.
