Be careful parking in Gary, IN at the Pilot or especially the TA cause drivers have been robbed there myself included so be extra if you need to go there.

    Pigbacon and Xeres63 Thank this.

The Petro or Lake station would be better the the TA and Pilot on Burr St in Gary. Just be careful stuff happens when you least expect it

TruckerPaul, If I have to stop in Gary, I always stay at the Petro...nicer place and have had no problems there.

Pigbacon and Trucker Paul Thank this.

I don't stop in Gary for anything. Made that mistake once, never again.

We don't get paid enough to risk our lives at dangerous truckstops. I thought the TA was not all that bad till I got robbed 3 years ago there's a post here about it also.

Someone working here needs to go back to school and learn how to properly drop a trailer. This is the third in a row I've picked up that was jacked up crazy high.

    Pigbacon Thanks this.

Where did you pick up the trailers at? I know at Gaylord the yard jockeys will add a few cranks when they take them from the doors....saw it as I was waiting on my trailer to be loaded.

The joy of cranking down a trailer with 40,000+ in it....
See that a lot in Gaylord.....

I take precautions any time I have to stop at a place like Gary. That includes spending a minimal amount of time out of the truck, pulling my cab curtains immediately, and running a load strap through the door handles while I sleep. Better yet, I never stop there or west Memphis, or Detroit, or anywhere else like it if I can avoid it.
