Hey guys, I'm caught up in another Heartland acquisition now driving for Interstate and a former Gordon driver. Heartland isnt the place for me. I get my mail in Clarksville TN (I24 on KY line). Looks like you guys are running good and with good equipment. Spoke with Tony and sounds like a place I wouldn't mind working. Oh, stationed 3.5 years at Minot so I know ND weather and can even understand the locals when they speak! Holding off on my app as I see they do a referral payment so...what's the worst about these guys? I understand home time can be a challenge but I'm happy taking time off wherever and just an occasional flyby to pick up mail. Want to stay driving west and NW when I can but run all over and have lots of winter driving thru Rockies I-90/94. I prefer to stay north of I80 especially during the cold months...most people know how to drive up there. Thanks for any info and hopefully make a smooth transition!

scOOter, at the present time dispatch is going through a reorganization! We lost 2 dispatchers and one has been replaced and they are looking for the others replacement, with that said it has been a challenge! Home time isn't an issue with Magnum at all. I've been here 23 months and most days I still love it! Come on over and drink some of that Magnum Kool Aid

I'd agree that dispatch is having growing pains after a few setbacks. I'm sure it will work out... but there has been some bumps....
Staying north of I80 consistently will be a bit of a challenge. We have a lot of NW freight... but also a lot of south east, Midwest, Texas/Oklahoma and some mid Atlantic (Pa, Jersey, MD...
You do have a better chance of the winter cause a lot of our drivers would rather stay South! About 1/4 of our drivers live in NC alone....
It shouldn't be too hard to get you home.
Any questions just ask!!sc00ter, Xeres63, mattbh23 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Personally I like not being micro managed and having the freedom do route myself, I figure I'm a big boy now lol. Set your expectations accurately and you'll do fine, there are plenty of people here willing to help out and as you learn the system the miles will increase, expect 2200-2800 per week for the first couple of months.
I have been here for a bit over 2.5 years and for the most part love it, yes we all have our moments, but that's life lol.
