What do dispatch jobs pay, anyhow? Anywhere.

 

If they would let me work from home in Georgia then great. But I doubt that. They could let me do the southeast and actually go and visit some of our customers. My wife and kid would never move to Fargo. My daughter is cold at 80 degrees she would freeze to death.

 

I was an account manager on a dedicated account. I had 2 other people working with me. It did all the dispatching driver manager stuff and was the POC for the customer. I made $1200 a week but was on call almost 24/7. The 2 others made $14 a hour.
It was $1000 the first 6 weeks told him I wanted back in the truck to much of a headache and I took a pay cut to put up with this nonsense. They had no else who coukd fill in so I got a raise. Was only suppose to be around 6 weeks turned into 2 years.

 

Most likely in the $40K range, though our dispatchers do have some additional responsibilities which may give them a bit more...in the end they go home every night but we likely make more...

 

Yes a driver does make more than a dispatcher in most circumstances. I made more than my boss did then but I was had a lot of leverage because they had nobody else that wanted the job. But I did add some value because I could always jump in a truck and deliver a back hauls or make some of the local store deliveries if needed. It was a mega because of corporate bs I was still technically classified as a driver so I could those.

Upper Marlboro MD to Chicago for a 1100 Monday delivery. Hope I can get 2 days of layover out of this. 700 miles for the weekend for the 2nd straight weekend.
