Did 768 miles yesterday. Decided to shut down 140 miles from where I wanted to make it. Wyoming has wind gusts of 40+ right now with slick roads. Im 76k loaded and blowing me around more than ive been before. After seeing a truck sleeping in the middle of the hwy, seemed like a good cue to get off the road. Sucks because I was making a solid push until i got into Arlington area.

    768?
    678 I can believe.....

    But 64 x 11= 704

Glad you parked safe... those winds can be exhausting to drive through....

Edit.... I guess you could have if you started your drive shift late the day before, drive till 0300. Took your 10 hR break, started at 1300 and drive till 2359.... that way you could get 896 in a 24 hr period.... mathematically speaking.... lok

I tend to think in drive shifts though... not 24 hr periods.... my bad

I ran that schedule so infrequently that it slipped my mind.... I was up at 0200-0300 every day driving and shut down before 1600 most every day.... :’-)

Now I’m stuck in an office like a schlep...
I can’t wait to get back out there....Once this shoulder heals...
I’m starting to think like a cubicle robot!! Lol

Thats exactly what I did, turn and burn style. Except I left the rest area after an hour. Wyoming changed road conditions from slick to dry and I slid my axles back some for the wind. They showed i80 peachy 30 miles out and sure enough there site was dead accurate. 941 miles to go and I roll at 605pm.

Curious, that 5% grade on i80 after you leave Cheyenne, what gear do you guys use coming down it? I used 8th and my j brake rolling down at 45 but it seemed slow.

You’re still learning rookie. Keep in mind that you can go down a hill too slow lots of times. Just drive within your comfort zone and don’t worry about everyone else.

You can go down a mountain thousands of times too slow only once too fast.

Diver in your comfort zone. Going up and down hills will come. Never try to match another driver. I was a courteous driver.
