RS, he would have still run into the s..t! I left Grafton, ND yesterday and ended up shutting down in the south bound rest area just south of Council Bluffs. Ran into slush and a few big trucks in the median and ditches all the way to KC. I’m pretty sure US 75 would have been in as bad a shape as I-29 (or worse)!

I seriously appreciate the advise.
I was a little ways down I35 in Iowa last night. I had started by the time you replied. Didn’t see it till now. Stopped in Kansas.
Saw plenty of vehicles off the road today. Glad I stopped last night when I did.
Know of a good truck stop near the delivery in Dallas? -

I’ve been having some frustrations.
I don’t know, it always feels like I’m calling the wrong person when I call in. And why do we even have driver managers if they are never who we’re suppose to talk to? I’ve called who I thought was my driver manager and left a message, never got a response. Then I called in yesterday because I was coming down with something and needed a day to recover and Matt said he’d send me to my driver manager and connected me with someone completely different.
And this afternoon the heater on my APU went out, so I’ve had to idle my truck because it’s in the single digits here in MN (so there goes my idle bonus). Tomorrow I’ll have to call someone and figure out how to get that fixed. I’ve got to head out in an hour for my 4am pickup, which delivers tomorrow at 5 am in Chicago. Which is another annoyance. I was looking forward to some longer loads so I wasn’t delivering and reloading every day, but so far every single load I’ve gotten has been a next day delivery.
I’m trying to be cool and roll with it but it’s just ... frustrating.WesternPlains Thanks this. -
Short and long kind of go in cycle I did overnight loads for like 2 weeks a coupe weeks ago, still got my miles.
MN/ND are not forced dispatch, if you don’t like what they have to take it, ask about the next day. -

Well, they got me into a place in Madison to get my apu fixed. Bad news is I’ll be stuck here till 9-10pm waiting on them to get done, then I get to grab 4 hours sleep on the side of the road here before leaving to make my 5am delivery.
At least tomorrow will be better. My reload is 5 miles from my delivery and I have all weekend to go from Chicago to Minneapolis for a Monday morning delivery. Not a lot of miles but since I’m still trying to kick this cold I’ll take a slow weekend.
