Well my truck decided since Christmas is near, she would so me some pretty lights. For the newbies something I learned today is to avoid Rush Peterbilt locations, I'm in Des Moines and headed to the Kenworth dealer...

I would imagine it probably feels like a relief to know your getting breakdown pay
when all those warning lights illuminate .
Unlike where i work now , (Poly) who has hung me out to dry in motels 3 times in a row
over the past couple of months .
Cant wait to be where you guys are , the day is fast approaching
I recall talking to Paul just the other day that the truck i was in is totally unreliable
and i was worried about making it back to Texas in time to make the jump to ND
Guess what ... It laid down on me last night , that makes 4 in a row
What a world

Yeah they take care of us, unfortunately we make more money running, but they work hard to get you back on the road and they add phantom miles to keep our performance pay ratings up.

 

Should be picking up my own truck tomorrow! Woohoo, a little nervous and a lot of excited.

 

Saw my first snow of the year in Coon Rapids. Had to head north to escape it.

Had my first "OOPS!" moment last night--got a message from Matt telling me my reefer was set wrong. Glad someone was doing my job for me.

I've gotten a "Matt message" 2x... Once because I was spotted driving out of Fargo with my tail fins closed. I forgot to open them after fueled up and left. I noticed when I stopped to take a leak... Hahaha... I asked him if someone ratted me out and he said no... HE seen me! He was very nice about it...
The second time I had a load offer where they said one temp but the BOL and the shipper said a different one. I set it to the BOL temp. He sent me a message thinking I had it set wrong.
I didn't see it as micromanagement.... Just as management looking after the drivers... Like they have our backs...
