KTM, I am with Magnum now as a trainee after choosing then over Maverick TCD. Doing the research it came down to miles (Magnum keeps you running) and as a newer driver the fact that I will get experience with a 10 spd vs the automated manual. So far I have nothing bad to say about Magnum, but Maverick is a good company as well - they do seem to have more miles available on the flatbed side though.
enicolasy Thanks this. -

Just started so I have 4 weeks to solo, have met a couple of other drivers already in their first year and they all are positive about the company. Trucking happens, but from what I have seen thus far Magnum lives up to what they present. I feel very fortunate to have made this my first OTR company.

I know I have a good health plan, vision plan, disability insurance and life insurance for about 150 a pay period. Paydays are every 2 weeks.
For the pay questions above....
Orientation is $200 for 3 1/2 days. Its on first check
Training is $75 a day.
First 6 months solo is .36 a mile
They will pay for you to get your hazmat and tanker
-.02 cpm for not having hazmat.
+.05 cpm when tranporting placarded load.
$15 an hour detention after 1st 2 hrs, whether the customer pays or not
$75 layover pay
$75 brakedown pay + hotel
They will fly you to orientation
If you have current medical card they wont send you for another physical.
If you have experience, you get started out higher. Paul can tell you how much...
After 6 months you go on the pay by performance plan. Basically between .40 and .50 depending on miles run, fuel mileage, log violations, on time deliverys and CSA score...
I think I got that right......enicolasy, radioshark and gntorres61 Thank this. -
Was at the shipper in Grand Forks when they opened, was loaded and rolling by 0930. Made it 54 miles and then I blew a tire on the trailer. Called the shop, they had someone out to me within the hour, 20 minutes later I was up and rolling. Fought strong winds across ND and Minnesota, and called it a night in Black River Falls, Wi.. I will try and knock out 550 miles tomorrow and 550 Monday. Be safe and enjoy your Sunday.
