All settled into the TA on 90 in Seattle after a good day of mountain driving, a bit of snow and ice but no chains needed today. Looking forward to delivering Monday and then a two stop pickup before heading back to Fort Worth to get warm!

Also weird being in WI and it's 40 degrees and drizzling. -

I'm getting ready to fill out the application for Magnum based on the recommendation of Chinatown. Do any of you guys have any words of wisdom regarding possibly coming to work for Magnum?

Where are from, any experience . ,and what are your expectations.
Great equipment. Not micromanage at all. I really have nothing bad to say. Sure there are things I'd like a little different but that's everywhere you go.
You'll read negative stuff on here but if I was otr for years and had a family I think it would be time to stop switching OTR companies and find something local.
Great company and you are not a number. Personally I feel they care but still have a job to do like we do.DoubleO7 Thanks this. -
I love the equipment and the freedom of not being micromanaged which is not always common in trucking. My miles have been off occasionally, but you can work with management here, they actually listen and try to come up with a solution...
Good luck whatever you decide.Ordy19 Thanks this. -
My reply is coming it will take a few minutes... -
Case in point. I had my load to deliver in Fargo. Dispatch called me and asked my plans. Told me I'd like to keep you running and just drop it in the yard and pick up another trailer and go somewhere else. With no downtime. It's not always like that but they called me and asked.
To me that says something. I'm sure they needed the load and knew I was coming in the area and could have just sent me instructions through Peoplenet with no communication.
They asked. We discussed my clock. And it's a go. I respect that.DoubleO7 Thanks this. -
I drove for about 17 months back in 2003 and 2004. The first year was with Schneider (they trained me) and the rest was with Maverick flatbedding. I came back to trucking over 4 months ago and started with Swift. Hey, you do what you have to do to get back in the "system". Swift is starving me and I cannot afford to stay. As of Monday when I pick up my next load, I will have been stuck in truck stops for 7 of 10 days. No, I'm not kidding. I have had no ppreventables with Swift and no late deliveries or pick ups.
I love running everywhere, especially out West. Well, I will never do NYC or Washington DC again. After returning to driving after so long, I am shocked at how much I love it this time. I just got to be able to run an absolute minimum of 2500 miles per week, every week.
I'd love to hear what you think of Magnum. Are they still running manuals?
