Quick question that ya'll may be able to answer for me about the per diem.

looks like when you start on your own its .36cpm is that with or without per diem? I think I recall reading .10 per diem? So if you took the per diem pay pre tax would that bump you to .46 essentially or is the .36 if you are on per diem?

With per diem, You would get 10 CPM before taxes and 26 CPM that would be taxed...
You can also opt out of it and just make the .36, which would be fully taxed and you can deal with the deductions on your own.
There is NO opt in or opt out fee....

 

No, your mileage pay is either taxed in full or you can elect to have 10 cents of your pay held back as per diem.

Per Diem is fine until you apply for a bank loan, because the amount of per diem doesn't show as income on your pay stubs.

Basically, my income taxes are MY business and I'll be darned if anyone wants to be my babysitter. Mandatory per diems would make me quit in a hot second. I can do a lo better on my taxes than my company and having my credit screwed up by my employer? No thanks.

 

A- I never had a problem proving per diem as income, it's always showed on my pay stub as total gross.

B- Magnum doesn't force per diem. It's optional.

C- I agree with you, I'd rather do it on my own at tax time

Not bad, do they have a place to park you're car while your otr at CR terminal? if i remember the area right I think there is a YMCA nearby too?
