Made my first delivery this morning in Cedar Rapids and then drove up to Coon Rapids. Getting some laundry done, fueled up and I'll get to my 2nd drop for my 530 am appointment. Then I have a 1300 appointment for my 3rd drop in Marshall, MN. Hopefully I have enough hours to get to Fargo after that. I have a 0600 on Wednesday for my 4th and final and then I have an appointment at the shop to get my peoplenet fixed.
Been running paper since its on the fritz... And frankly, it's a pain in the ###.... I'm looking forward to my electronic logs again!!

    Ordy19 and runningman0661 Thank this.

Anybody else getting short miles, or, more accurately, less than short miles?

I've had those weeks... Work your dispatchers and it will get better. Between Jenny O and Michael Foods being a bit slow due to the Avian Flu birds kill off and Case being down for retooling and the Holiday last week...Things can get slow. But bug your dispatcher!! I had a 'bad' 2300 mile week but it's been followed up with a couple 3000+ weeks...

No, I mean straight line distance from A to B is 349 miles and the load offer shows 304. That kind of short miles.

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if they're paying practical or short miles.

i gave up worrying about paid miles never ever look at it
they could pay you a penny less per mile and add the miles back in and you could be happy because you got paid all the miles
if I have a run to LA it pays me $925 doesnt much matter how many miles it was or how much per mile it is

It's a matter of honesty and accuracy, both of which are very important to me. Plus, it helps when figuring on the fly if I can make p/u or delivery on time, if I'm told it's 300 miles to target, I know I can be there on six hours, if it turns out to be 370 miles to target, well that makes a big #### difference.

the honest part is load pays whatever it pays
anything else your just winding yourself up for nothing
trip planning by a load sheet is not accurate either
but if the pit in your stomach feels good to you
have a nice day with that
