It's not the job of the company to teach you how to use the HOS... We learned it extensively in school and my trainer also went over it. Even though he doesn't use it we talked about it.
It's up to the driver to use his hrs to his advantage.

 

Keep in mind that not all of the trainers agree with using the 8-2 split, in the year I have been here I've used it 3 times.

Most times I have been able to get a 10 in, but with shippers taking forever to get me unloaded it has come in handy. There are some great YouTube vids on it and @supersnackbar seems to have a good handle on it too...

 

We did, even had a test on it lol...

 

We're gonna have to rename ORDY19 to Relentless#1! Ordy19, you and I didn't exactly go to the best driving schools. Like we discussed today, just enough to pass the tests. And make us dangerous

 

It's all good, we live and learn! Those hard lessons are ALWAYS the best lessons.

 

Dont take everything so personal... Especially on the Internet. Your entitled to your opinion, so is someone else.
Take a 10.... Do an 8-2 split... Whatever works to get the job done... Someone else may figure a way that works for them that you didn't consider. In the end.... It's all 10 hrs...

 

It sure would be a good time to go to Warsaw. Might be able to sweet talk my way into some bbq.

Ultimately, as a professional driver, it's your responsibility to learn your trade. School and trainers can only do so much. The rest is up to you. On the job experience, asking questions, watching videos, reading job related materials, and using this forum.... All valuable tools we use to learn...

 

And it is not opinions, it was facts about the 8-2. Good some people never have to do it. I don't want to
