Yeah I spoke with Tony a few times while I was home and he told me there were a couple of options at the yard. But if there all gone with this recall then I would be ok with a detail of the inside of the truck, maybe they can get the smell out. Whatever ends up happening I'm not here to complain I just want to work.

Anyone ever pick up at Standard Forwarding in Chicago and know if you can pick up early there or at least park in their yard?

Just had about the lousiest 5 days in trucking I've ever had.
Got unloaded in Aberdeen with a layover day for the holiday, was supposed to get loaded Wed. AM.
Checked into the truck stop in NE Md....
Woke up VIOLENTLY sick. Puked for 20 minutes straight, ran into the pilot and sat on the pot for an hour... Wash, rinse, repeat for 2 days straight. Spent my birthday hunched over my trashcan throwing up.
Called in, told someone, I don't remember who, that I wasn't going to make the pickup. Called Jeremy the next day, he hadn't been told (naturaly). So I picked up in Dover, DE friday, STILL sick as a dog. Go to the nearest scale that didn't pass me through a weigh station and it took me 1-1/2 hours to go 14 miles at 1pm. Get there, weigh, go into the bathroom and throw up some more... I was loaded at 38,400 on the drives and 22000 on the tandems. Thank God I re-weighed, because I put the tandems up 13 holes and was STILL 34500 on the drives. Adjusted, go in and get the first food I've been able to keep down the 2-1/2 days, park it, because taking the I-95 corridor at 3pm unless you have to is just STUPID. Woke up twice with emergency bacthroom calls in one of the filthiest truck stops I've ever been to.
Wake up, drive to PA and just am too darned tired to drive. Slept for a couple hours, more emergency bathroom calls...
Kept up all the way to this morning. FINALLY made it to Aurora, Il, where I'll unload TUESDAY, thanks to me being sick. Works out to 1100 miles in 7 days, one day layover, since I won't ask for the extras due to me being sick.
First time I've ever been ill and pepto-bismol hasn't covered it. Guess it was a touch of the stomach flu.
If I had any idea how sick I was going to be, I would have just got a hotel room and parked the truck until Monday (tomorrow). I kept thinking: "This is going to pass, just hang in there and get on the road in a few hours." -No such luck. Would have gone to the doctor, but what are they going to do? Tell me I have a touch of the stomach flu? Already knew THAT for free.
Word of advice for you and for me. If you're coming out both ends? Get a hotel room. At least the bathroom is closer and you have a free shower 15 feet away. I would have happily spent a couple hundred dollars on that in retrospect.cdavis188, HeavyHauler33, mxpx148 and 1 other person Thank this. -
