Yeah I drive one and really like it. I have not driven the standard AMT 579 so I can't tell you much about the controller changes in the EPIQ, but the tranny works pretty well and in the mountains seems to find the right gear although I still tend to lock it in with manual.

Getting up on the tire to clean the windows is a bit more of a pain with all of the gaps being closed and when jacking a trailer you need to watch the fairing extenders a little more but you get used to it.

The truck is super quiet inside (as are the 16 manuals) and I'm getting 10.3 mpg when deadheading and 8-9 mpg loaded, really it's just more consistent vs the standard truck and I'm sure experienced drivers would be able to shift to match the milage so...at least until they got tired.

I'm still not convinced the US Paccar stance that a 10 spd is all you need and the 12 spd Volvo and Freightliner AMT's would be nice to have when climbing, but I'm just a bit slower and after all I'm not really working that hard holding a steering wheel.

Can't wait for the winter to come, it'll be nice to try the AMT in the snow...

Thanks Winny! I don't know how the eaton AMT will be in the winter, but I drove an iShift this past winter(1st winter for me) and it wasn't that bad, although I used manual mode in the little bit of snow I had encountered. Only thing is it would be a little harder from a dig to catch traction due to the way the Trans engaged the clutch.
    BTW, that's crazy good mileage!

Somebody with the means needs to challenge this CSA score ######## all the way to the SCOTUS, if need be, on the basis that CSA points for a warning is a denial of due process under the law. I.E. completely unconstitutional.

I had bulk hazmat and couldn't run the pa turnpike because of it. Who or how do get the extra miles for having to run 68-79-70.

I remember now why hate that route so much. So slow.
