Happened to me at sygma in Fort Worth. No trucks on either side. Couldn't back in to save my life. Worst part, another Magnum drive was waiting on me. Lol

Some
I keep getting told by drivers with DECADES of experience that they have the same issues. It's reassuring. I'm NOT retarded, I'm just a truck driver. And at 18 months out here, it gets less and less frequent, but #### if it doesn't still happen just when I'm feeling my oats.
I just talked with a driver with about 7 years out here. His advice: "Just realize that you're going to seriously F-Up about 2-5 times in your first couple of years."
"Because it's a physical skill. Just like baseball or Football. And sure as Hell, you're going to hit some foul balls and get some penalty calls."RickyDickyDo Thanks this. -
Only 5 pull ups? Some days for me only 5 pull ups feels like I nailed it.
Im afraid Ive developed an OCD with my backing, most often in docks with guiding lines. I will sometimes do a pull up to move an inconsequential inch or two to a side. Meanwhile a driver next to me might set their brakes while crooked and 8 inches off the line.
I just delivered in Hebron, KY. I didn't want to risk the secret spot a local driver told me about last time I was here not being so secret anymore, so I reserved a spot at the TA earlier. Just waiting on my Advil PM to kick in now.Pigbacon, RickyDickyDo and ncmickey Thank this. -
@txtodd there are several spots on your route that are worth looking into.
The Burger Grind. Fresh ground burgers, mixed of beef chuck & beef brisket. Believe they also have bison.
Two locations in Tyler. The one on 323 is probably the closest to where you'll be, not sure where you deliver.
Collin Street Bakery off I20 just outside Tyler. Make their own breads for sandwiches and such as well as everything to fix an ailing sweet tooth! I parked at the gas station across the street, grabbed my food and left.
As you know, you will be in Texas so there are multitudes of great BBQ to be had.
There are two truck friendly locations that stick out. One is in Longview, so it makes for a good place to spend the night prior to delivering to Sysco. They have very few spots, so getting there early is a must.
The brisket is awesome!
The one in Longview also has a Fried Pie shop in it! They can also add ice cream to your pie if you desire!
These are some solid choices! The rest is up to you!WalterSobchak, txtodd and 4mer trucker Thank this. -

Does anyone know if they have on site parking at UNFI in Lancaster, TX? I've got a 0100 Thursday app't, but I'll be down there tomorrow afternoon. I saw there's a Pilot less than a mile away, too.
