I want to make as much money as possible and work as much as possible. What's a good route for me to try and take with no hazmat experience but 2yr driving experience (auto/manual/flatbed/dry van).

Get your tanker and hazmat then train with Grondyke (Longview).
Spend a couple years with them then go to work for Gemini hauling fuel. I just had this conversation with another 903 young man. If I wasn't getting ready to retire, I would be looking at doing this. Watch your record, keep everything clean and no job hopping.

Thanks. Funny you said this, Grondyke was some place I applied to 6 months ago and they wanted to hire me but they wanted 3 weeks out and I wasn't interested, now it doesn't matter so I guess I'll give them another call. I've also applied to Gemini before but heard nothing back. Thanks a bunch!

Unless you have someone you can team with. Then I would suggest explosives civilian and military. You will need a security clearance for hauling military munitions.

    Just a thought.

I have had the company Dyno Nobel recommended to me, they have a terminal/yard in Pittsfield, IL which is relatively close to my hometown. They haul explosives for mining and have a very good reputation, they have operations all over the lower 48.

If you want to run solo and work long hours but be paid for every bit of time. I’d suggest “Apex” division for AirProducts or “nitrogen services” for Airgas. You will live on the road working to help refineries do their turnarounds. You will be put up in nice hotels as well but when the works calls you better be ready at the drop of a hat. These guys make big money! IMG_2825.jpeg

You can also look into their regional driving and roll and rest positions. You’ll work a lot, get paid for being away from home, get to stay in nice hotels and earn points.
