3 or more keys to the truck... Not fun getting locked out of your truck.

I know it may sound simple but a cell phone to keep in touch with family. thats the one thing you will miss the most. Next would be a laptop, t.v, movies and books

I have an XM radio to listen to while I drive. Beats trying to find another station every 20-30 minutes as you travel. Of course you'll need a cell phone to keep in touch with family (as well as occasionally calling brokers or customers for directions). And I have a laptop for light surfing after the day is done. I don't do TV.

If you're getting good miles you really don't need a lot. You'll be mostly driving and sleeping. That's why we're out here right? To make money? If I'm sitting I want it to be at home and not on the road.

    :)

If you are busy, you'll be happy. Sitting around with plenty of hours and nothing to do sucks.

Laptop, cell phone, are my must haves.

Must have been a tough life being on the road before, cell phones and computers....but probably better when it was just paper logs.

For the majority of us it is STILL paper logs. And since single sheet logs, it is even better. Life on the road is a whole lot easier in many ways than it was "in the good old days", and a whole lot harder and more annoying than it was also. Still like it after all these years though.

As many have suggested, a laptop (and only a laptop) is almost a necessity anymore. It will make your life a lot easier. Google earth has helped me in more ways than I can possibly express. Guess some of the electronic stuff has really spoiled me. But it can make your life much easier. I also have satellite tv. LOVE IT!! And really love my satellite radio. If I could only have one thing of all of them it would be the satellite radio. A fridge, microwave and some sort of cooking device like a George Forman or the like is nice to have also. Will save you a lot of money in the long run, that way you can get all the other goodies.

Yep. It should be considered safety equipment. Not having to find a new station every 20 minutes is golden. That alone is worth the cost... not even considering the variety.

    mtnMoma Thanks this.
