I'm an IC. Truck is titled in my company name, yes there is still a lien on it. Schneider Finance is just a leasing company they don't care where you take the truck, yes you have to be in good standing. I.E. Paying your truck and MMA every week.
In fact I am taking this SFI lease truck and going to another operation next week after being on IC for 15 months. Easy process.
I'm glad I did the Schneider IC program and lease.
PS I made money every month but 1.

Keep in mind that some of us have other motives than money. I did it for flexibility without ownership. At 56, I have until 1/5/18 in this once fine profession, then I can (and will) walk away. Trucking has become garbage. Many of the drivers are garbage. The regs are full of garbage. And I've had enough. But the Choice program has allowed me to do what I needed and wanted to do with fewer hassles.TexasPhoenix, Cledus Snow, Crusader66 and 9 others Thank this.

The truth hurts.

You made money every month but one. Yea ok.
So why are you leaving. -
Truth is I bought my truck through a LP, paid it off over a year ago. Home at least a week a month and made more than I ever did as a company driver during the 29 months it took to pay it off, yup, truth hurts alright when you cant do the same thing yourself.Knucklehead, PoleCrusher and Home_on_wheels Thank this.

Because he found something better. Not saying what he had is bad, but was a step in the direction he wanted.
Put another way - if you are making (subjective) "good money " and find a way to make "good money" plus 5-7% with the same work and risk, why wouldn't you take that chance?
I'm no fan of L/P, nor of L/October. I do recognize that for some they are a path to a happy life. In this case Dave did his thing, learned a thing or two, and is ready for the next chapter. I wish him well. The snark that I inferred from your post wasn't warranted, and not all that helpful. I know you've been around, and not trying to start something (I currently have not 1, not 2, but 4 women pissed at me - NONE of which I've even slept with - so I don't have the energy to start another beef). Just saying the number one item on my Christmas list is for people to look for the common ground, to try and lift each other (and the rethoric) up. -
um, actually, I've made money every month that I've been on Choice, and as a matter of fact, I've had positive statements for all but 2 weeks in 3.5 years, (one week truck was in the shop, one week I took off). And I will clear $800 this week and be off for 7 straight days. I don't understand why this seems so hard to believe.TDFair, Knucklehead, sealevel and 2 others Thank this.

You work too much!

This thread had nothing to do with leasing. Nothing. I veiwed it as rates, lanes, and freight availability, until someone posted a whole diatribe about leasing. It's a great topic really when it's not hijacked by someone who doesn't take the time to comprehend what the thread is about.
On another note it has been alot more challenging the past few years. I stopped trying to string loads together and instead string cities together. It's not like it was three or four years ago for sure.
@MOGLAR some of us here at SNI lease, and some own. Level playing field. Your lack of knowledge of what your preaching pertaining to this thread is embarrassing. Take it to the lease purchase forum.Knucklehead, 48Packard, Home_on_wheels and 4 others Thank this. -
I bet people didn't even look at the video. They just read the headline.
sealevel and PoleCrusher Thank this.
