Mathematically, there will soon be a day when ALL drivers (worldwide?) were trained by CRE. They will always be a valued supplier of CDL drivers. I trained with CRE in Mira Loma, CA. Everything you hear is true - the good, the bad and the really bad. Met some really good folks in school, still talk to my trainer, my backside still stings from leasing and now I work for someone else. CRE experience didn't ruin my life. Okay, well maybe a little. But the nurses tell me I'm getting better! If you consider CRE for a means to obtain your CDL - get it and go! They push people through like cattle. If you moo at the right times you may join the ranks of CRE trained CDL holders - Look out McDonalds, over 40 billion served!
Do you think we'll ever be able to convince noobs of this????????????? Probably not until after the rosy pics the recruiters paint fade as the reality sets in of what is really happening to them................. with out vaseline.
The sad thing is some of them target the ones that get turned down by everyone. They have something in their past that most companies won't hire them for. Then along comes someone that will not only give them a chance, but they lead them on thinking they can even be an O/O with no exp. (they leave out the part that a lease is not an O/O) They dangle that in front of them long enough that they don't see the noose they are about to put their neck in.
One trick the recruiter uses when someone points out about hearing drivers tell them LPA's are not good is "Well those drivers probably turned down loads, didn't communicate, etc, etc, etc." It's always the driver's fault he didn't succeed in the program never could it possibly be they are set up for failure the minute the driver signed the lease contract. You are right Brickman. What's the saying? There's a sucker born every minute.
There's not a sucker born every minute. There's a sucker born every second. At least this is my take after hearing about the long lines that are still forming at C.R. England orientations after all these years.
I've been told England upgraded their lease and now pay for more and dropped fees.Has anyone else heard that?
My S/O drives for England has for 5 years as a premier lease op. Nope he does NOT have a red truck LOL and its new. He will drive this truck for the 3 year lease then 2 years and the truck will be all ours. 5 years to pay off a 2007 KW900 is not a bad deal. We only have 4 years left. They have done ALOT to help out the new drivers/lease ops. Detention pay is after (2) Two hours. Tolls, fees, and tags are paid. England is not a "great" company to work for but if you do remember that it is a business and can get through the first year you will be able to make good money. You can NOT go home every couple days and expect to get reloaded when You want. You have to remember that if the wheels are not moving you are NOT making money. Yes my driver will say if you can get on with another company do it but then you have to remember trucking is getting paid for miles Driven. You also are your own company and have to pay your own taxes and expenses.
