Good thing that wasn't a kid they went after!

Dumb question, but since the dogs attacked someone/thing won't they be put down or forced to be put down?

If so, it kinda makes that surgery pointless.

I don't get it, they say the second time around the dogs attacked both the dog and his owner. But yet they said it was uncalled for and Lewis was in no danger? Thus it was uncalled for pulling and discharging his firearm? I think this guy did the right thing!

From what I read on that post it was the owner of the pitbulls that said the other guy wasn't being attacked and shooting the dog was uncalled for.

Now watch the a-hole that owns the pit bulls sue the guy they attacked for shooting his dog. . .

Hmmmm, maybe he should have shot the owner as well?:biggrin_25510:

I'd be interested in knowing if those three pit bulls have any type of history here, and if so, why was the owner allowing them off leash in a public place. . .

Not to derail your we hate pitbulls reactions, but the man with the shepherd also had it off leash. Dogs fighting dogs happens, last time I took my shepherd to the dog park a husky mauled him without any reason. The husky subsequently got its ### kicked, but the point is that dogs get into fights. If this had been a true attack with THREE PITBULLS the German Shepherd would have had far more then minor injuries, as would the owner.

Most likely the dogs were being loud and snappy toward each other, and the owner of the shepherd probably did overreact, not to say I would not have either. But the perception of pitbulls alreayd puts people on high alert, so one being snappy as some dogs are toward other dogs, would make one assume its in kill mode. Have you ever played roughly with a dog where its making little growls and mouthing you? To an outsider it would appear the dog is killing you.

I'm surprised the people from PETA haven't been all over this story. I do understand where the guy was coming from, don't neccessarily condone the action however I do understand.
