I believe in firing a warning shot....
to the chest..Mastertech, leannamarie, panhandlepat and 2 others Thank this. -
1. I really hope the driver called 911 after the rock broke the window.
2. I hope he has a good lawyer for the gun charge, assuming it was a pistol. -
I got all fired up and composed my response.
THEN I saw the last line of your post.
However, my response is so good, (who me? conceited? bragging? NAAW- not me) that I'm going to post it anyhow:
Uh-huh. And what do you do when your "warning shot" hits some innocent person? Where are you going to point the gun where you won't run the risk of hitting someone or something?
Into the air? That bullet will come down somewhere.
Into the ground? Ever hear of a "skip shot" where a bullet fired into the ground "skips" along the ground and hits somebody?
Into your truck somewhere? OK, what part of your truck are you willing to kill?
Warning shots are specifically prohibited by most law enforcement agency regulations, for the above reasons. You don't "drop the hammer" unless you are planning on hitting something.Last edited: Mar 12, 2009

I say kudos to the driver.
The unfortunate thing is I bet this will make it even harder for us to be able to carry in our trucks.
Y'all were talking about home invasion/defense laws in various states. Indiana's law, so I've been told, is if an intruder is unarmed then you must fight back unarmed. If he has a knife, then you can fight back with a knife. If he has a gun, you can shoot to kill.
The problem with this is, who in the hell is gonna take the time to ask, "Excuse me, Mr. Scumbag? Are you armed and if so, what are you armed with?"
Hence the reason there's a shotgun readily available in my house, and my girlfriend knows how to use it.

I bet the driver gets 5 years for having a weapon in the truck against DOT rules and regs. He will probably not serve time for the actual self defense issue but DOT will sure as heck hang his butt to make an example of him to other drivers...
DOT don't care about our safety or the fact that the scumbags of America feed on us without fear of being caught by the cops cuz the cops loop us right in with the rest of the scumbags they deal with. they consider it scumbags dealing with scumbags therefore not to be looked at too closely.
It's truly shameful. -
Pedigreed Bulldog Thanks this.
