I believe that the man whom shot the two idiots robbing his neighbors house was not able to be tried due to the jury saying there was no issue.

I also believe someone shot an unarmed teen whom had been stealing candy whom was on the floor on his knees while homeowner had gun to head (also in TX). The homeowner says the shot was accidental, or something, jury still didn't see a reason to go to trail.

In NY your dog bites someone whom has broken into your house, minimal the dog is quarantined and you now have to have it registered as a dangerous animal. I know, first hand. If they really want to be pricks they can PTS your dog for biting an intruder. Also, intruder can sue you or your house insurance for the bite.

PS: Reason # 7999 I decided to move to TX ;)

My mom's ex-boyfriend shot and killed a young man that broke into his bar. Nothing came of it. This was in Columbia, SC a couple years ago. The guy kicked the door in and that was his last mistake. Kudos to the driver for practicing his constitutional right to defend himself. Guns are the great equalizers.

It's funny when you hear about an old granny shooting somebody but that's what makes a gun practical as a bullet can take down the biggest and meanest SOB's, so it doesn't matter if you're small, fragile and weak, a bullet makes you strong!

Not to subvert this thread, but all of us gun owners better standby. . .

The anti-gun crowd is back in power, and chomping at the bit. . .:biggrin_2552:

    1) I hope you're kidding. After the windows broke, someone could be inside your truck in under 3 seconds. And some people leave their phones up front.

    2) What makes you think he didn't have a permit for it? Believe it or not, pistols are perfectly legal and Tennessee's nice enough to honor other concealed carry permits.

As a rule, in my world at least:

    1. Anyone willfully breaking and entering must have thought the matter out well enough to "decide AND choose" to break and enter my home or truck.

    2. That person, by the same rule, is demonstrating a clear willingness to do harm by the "act" of breaking and entering my world.

    3. The assumption of "intent to do harm" is implied by the above two.

    4. The offender will be shot, stabbed, beat, or some combination of the above in a quick and decisive manner without prior warning. No questions will be asked prior to the administration of this self preservation or family protection.

LMAO.... now that I'm thinking about it, my dog is so much like me, even he doesn't bark first. His rule is bite first, bark later.

In Alabama and Kentucky, unless the rule has change in the last little bit, glovebox carry does not constitute concealment. AND, you don't need a permit to carry an non-concealed weapon on your person or otherwise.

Truth is in most states YOU CAN
Laws have been changing in many states that do away with the requirement that a person only shoot if he can't "escape". In Michigan; for example, people no longer have to PROVE the dead-guy posed a threat, they only have to establish that THEY FEARED for their safety. ESTABLISH, not PROVE.

Prosecuting isn't convicting. My guess is the "guy" will never be found guilty, perhaps the Prosecution (or Judge) will drop the charges.
