Flatbed. Took a load to Houston that paid incredible. I typically avoid Texas cause it's difficult finding a decent paying load out. I booked something before heading to Texas, with Buchanan Logistics. 1000 miles $3000. But it needs pipe stakes. Broker said he'll pay me $200 extra to buy some. OK fair enough. Wasn't that difficult. So I dropped off the load this morning went to my pick up. Sat there for 5 hours for them to call me in FCFS. I get pulled in I got the pipe stakes on and everything. They said they can't load me cause I need off set pipe stakes. News to me. After a hour with the broker they said OK we'll just load you one stack less. It'll be fine. Wait another hour and the shipper said the broker took me off the load. Of course now they don't answer. 2 hours to get ahold of the broker again and they said they'll pay me $150 TONU and reimburse me for the stakes. Now I'm stuck in Houston with cheap freight. Just ranting cause I'm so freaking angry. I'm sure this kinda stuff has happened to most of you before. Not the 1st time it's happened to me either but geezus man.
What are off set pipe stakes? Buchanan shaded me a month ago on a load going to Montana. They called me on it, I bid it high for obvious reasons, they said they really didn't wanna pay that much but they needed this 1 last load covered. I wouldn't budge on my rate offered.. They accepted rate and 1 hour later call back saying the load needs a 53 foot flat it won't fit on 48... Whatever... I looked on ITS now they have the same load listed $1000 cheaper than what we agreed on and nothing indicating that it needed a 53... shady broker games... They are on my do not haul list now.
I saw the other trucks there had them. The go in the pocket then come out away from the trailer a little bit. Kinda like the ones you see that are permanently attached. I attached a pic of the ones I had
They are a old company and used to highly regarded. I in times haul for them. There checks are good and the young brokers are 50/50 good or bad. Just need to know that going in. Get everything in writing. Just like alot of them. There is good and bad. Sucks you took the green weiner.
Whats with TQL lately? They have actually been very good to work with the last few months. Normally not a company I would do much with.
Interesting maybe they burned enough bridges or started effecting customers?. Shady ######## for sure
