I actually liked it, but then I worked in a basically small town/rural setting. But it was WORK, no doubt about that. We had a few guys come and go whil I was there, because "it is just too much hard work."
Uh gee, if I could do it, being an old geezer, you'd think these darn kids sure could. But no, I think they wanted a job where if you just showed up on time, you weren't expected to do much else. That just doesn't cut it in this business...

You're right. Had the terminal manager at ABF give me the in and outs of the job in great detail, then explain how much they paid and the benefits. Then he went into the schedule and the bottom of the board thing. It's just not suited for everyone. I've been a Laborer and Teamsters, understand how it all works, but it seems as though these once great gigs have been undermined and the employees have given up too much at the bargaining table. If only I looked better in brown, I'd go work for buster

A lot of freight moves in and out of Ohio. Finding what you're looking for should not be too hard.

I hope so. You want to know what I learned here yesterday. I got off I90 at the Rt 57.North. Construction mess. This morning. Sitting at the red light. And a Swift reefer went by. And I said to myself. That place sucks I think...
