Sounds like what the railroad unions are looking for.

They get it too. Biden struck it down in the states.

We have been getting 3 paid sick days for a few years now, never a issue getting compensated for sick days. Company can demand medical letter if you off more than 5 days, we can all cut and paste. :D

In hindsight if they just paid us the 10 days upfront we would not take any and the perceived staff shortage would be eliminated…i took my 3 this year cuz i actually was sick

Yea, I never understood the "use it or loose it" mindset some companies have. If you give a benefit like that (sick, vacation, etc.) of course the employee will be taking those days off. And usually near the end of whatever period specified. For example my last job has major staffing issues every December because of the number of people calling off sick to burn up their days.

This one always amused me.. Back in my early 20's I worked at a job that required a Dr note when calling in sick. I just called the Dr and asked the receptionist for a note. She would fill it out and I'd pick it up sometime during the day. The ironic thing is when I was sick it was a bigger hassle as I was sick and didn't feel like getting out. Nowadays I assume one could simply download one off the internet

Someone like myself would respond “got a doc appointment in 30 days”. Later later boss. Its stupid of companies to think employees have instant access to physicians as well a doctors note in my area costs $100 to $160…$300 if medical documentation required.

My company pays us out at the end of the year for the ones we don't use. We can take the money or put it in our RSP or TFSA. We can also put them in our RSP or TFSA in January but can't take them in cash.

this is true/right..to get that all important bossman's stick it up yer butt doctors note, we have to pay for the visit.

if some are "lucky" like i was, primary care doctor visit were no charge. but still try and get an appointment ASAP just to get back to work.

    end result..??

go back to work, coughing, hacking, puking all over the place....."is this proof enough bossman"..?????
