We use people net for our elogs. Does anyone know of a way to change when it does the 34 hour restart? My situation is this, I will be home next weekend then again during new years. I will then be staying out for a couple weeks so I can have extra days off. I want to do my restart over new years instead of the weekend so I'm fresh going out.

Call your peoplenet help desk folks, probably gonna require you to get it approved by your safety department.

Or if you have a kind driver/fleet manager with access to your hours....But that's a slippery slope.

I don't know about your system, but if I was going to do in using our elog system (blue tree), I would put myself in a "on duty" status, like pretrip for about 1 min. during that first weekend to soil the system counting a reset. If I was away from my truck, I could edit my log to add that 1 min. of on duty, when I was back in my truck, to get the job done. Then I would be ready to do a full reset during the New Year's period.

I could be wrong, but i thought it auto changed it assuming you could run legally without the first reset. If it needs the first reset for you to drive on the 30/31st, then you obviously cant take another that soon, but if you can run recap then it should auto change. If you need to be 100% sure, just go on duty for 1 min after 33 hours. This will interrupt the reset and allow you to over new years.

Go on duty and drive around the block in the middle of the first 34. Test run to see if it's running right. 15 minutes live 4, 15 minutes line 3. :)

    I agree.
You can control it by simply logging some on-duty time.
Drive to the store, or whatever.

You can burn a couple hours and still have plenty of hours rolling back in to keep you flush with hours until you decide to take that 34.

I am confused. A friend drives with an EOBR.

It allows him to choose whether to use the 34 or not.

Different EOBRs have different options. Qualcom's had the option to reset or not. Driver tech does it automatically, (I think) Im not 100% sure about people net.

I would do it with a duty status other than driving. In my elogs system, I can edit my log to take out on-duty stuff like a pretrip. I can NOT edit anything on the drive line.
