    Left

    Here's my system:

To back, put your hand on the bottom of the wheel. Which way do you want the trailer to go? Push your hand that direction. Back of trailer needs to go right, your hand at the bottom of the wheel goes right, the wheel itself goes left.

At least for me, it took some of the complexity out of the process while I still had to consciously think about what the steering wheel was doing.

I'm assuming you're driving you're car to the test?? In that case, do the exact opposite of what got you there and go home. There are some real drivers with real credentials out there looking for work and the last thing I want next to me on the road is someone with 2 public intoxications and a DUI. Sorry to be rude but enough is enough. Take your couple months experience and leave the industry.

I understand where you're coming from with that sentiment jakebrake...but be fair.

At least he came and asked instead of just assuming and taking out a trailer.

    Right?

    Right?

Nope.. I meant every word I said.. Sorry.. The last thing I want is this guy navigating an icy Pennsylvania road anywhere near me with my set. There are drivers with 10-15 years at YRC alone looking for jobs - those guy's know which way to turn the wheel on black ice to straighten out a set..

Glen Jake Brake has a point. And you need to make it your mission to take this job serious and prove him wrong. We don't want you, him ,me or anyone else wrecking or hurt. If you are out with trainer make sure and pick his brain if he is worth a ####. Just go easy and slow and don't do any thing you don't feel completely comfortable with. ADvice on backing. God after while you just take it for granted. I use either hand . Knee some times. It all comes with quality practice. You will know soon enough if you have what it takes or not. Good luck!

I didn't mean to goad you, jakebrake. You make a great point. And you're entitled, if your avatar is what you haul.

    Stay safe!
