Well, I see that you've edited your original post and removed the comments pertaining to vandalizing truck stops as a form of protest. I'll give you the benefit of doubt and believe that comment didn't come out the way you intended it when you wrote it.

After going back and reading the posts you've made, I suspect a certain amount of naivety on your part - the surprise that very few companies stepped up to the plate to help out the Arrow drivers that got themselves stranded on the road when their company ceased operations.

In the famous words of John McLane - "Welcome to the party, pal!"

Frankly, I'm stunned beyond belief that someone would expect these companies to do anything, much less respond to a rapidly developing situation like what happened last week!

But overall, your point is a valid one - there were a whole lot of companies that could have done a whole lot more... but they didn't. Whatta ya gonna do about it?

My suggestion is this -- instead of threatening to vandalize or boycott the truck stops, maybe you should start some sort of grass-roots campaign to make it a Federal law that a trucking company that ceases operations is required to get all of their trucking employees back home.

If Congress can pass legislation to create "Jason's law" about secure truck parking areas, certainly they can pass legislation to help drivers get home should their company fail.

In short - instead of complaining about who could and should have done what, take the knowledge you've learned and work to make sure it doesn't happen again.

And don't throw your pee bottles on the ground... :)

Or, "Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual. But now I know why I have always lost women to guys like you. I mean, it's not just the uniform. It's the stories that you tell. So much fun and imagination."

Why would corprate America have any reason to get invloved?
This is NO ONES responsibility but the management at Arrow and they obviously didn't give a rats ###.

Once again...What reason would they have to get involved?

To what end? This was not their fault! These are businesses not charities, It isn't reasonable to expect them to do anything to assist the drivers victimized by a bad company to get home.

    For services that they provide.

We are just a source of money...That's how it works!
AGAIN...These companies have NO OBLIGATION to run damage control for a badly run trucking company and their employees.

It was a decent gesture for them to offer $200 or a bus ticket home. It does not reflect badly on them that they didn't feel obligated to pay for fuel to get these guys home.

...And where do these companies become responsible to get someone elses drivers home?

They support their members...I have no use for unions but it is not their problem either.

Hey....Theres a good idea!! Since most of the unionized carriers are collapsing under the weight of unreasonable demands and lazy workers that get paid to sit around and complain about working conditions and file grievances.

    Are you serious?

    What planet are you from?

A possible contributor to the problem might be...

The truck stops and other businesses have no motivation to help, Probably because most drivers come in, park for free, don't buy anything, piss all over the parking lot, toss trash out on the lot, back into light fixtures and run over landscaping and just generally disrespect everyone and everthing they encounter at truck stops, Customers, Shopping centers and just about every other place we go ...If you were them, Would you feel inclined to help?

    I already do...BUT!

There are many here among us that think that Walmart is undermining America by running the mom and pop stores out of business.

So....Tell me, Exactly what did Walmart do to assist these Arrow drivers in their hour of need?

Nothing! Why? Because like all of the other entities that you pointed your crooked little finger of blame at...They are in no way responsible for this and have no obligation to fix it!

    Of your mind...

Many of us here and at a lot of trucking companies reached out to these drivers and offered help to get them home...That is enough in my opinion.
To expect private companies to go out of their way to assist in this problem is unrealistic and frankly ridiculous!

What do "we as drivers" do to assist others?
Our jobs? Toss a couple of dollars to "Toys For Tots"?
People from all walks of life do that!

The right frame of mind? What? Expecting some private business to get involved in something that does not concern them and then condem them for not doing it?

Really? So now you're a mind reader and apologist for a jerk that has a skewed sense of entitlement?
I think he expressed exactly what he meant to and got put in his place for it!

Hey mods, Why is this poster openly allowed to call me a jerk? I have seen people banned for much less. Whats the deal? Hypocrisy is never right even if the views are differnt. Its is always harder to do the right thing than flow with the crowd. Why do you call me a jerk because we disagree? Definetly many have shown thier true colors.

You were referred to that pejorative for your actions to "Get back at Arrow"...
Kind of like when the residents of South Central burned down their own neighborhoods in protest.....

To put it in simple terms.....Is your nose still attached to your face.....or did you remove it?
