Why do so many people think it is up to others to bail them out of a bad situation. The original poster comes across this way.

Arrow is one of many companies that are going under. As a driver, if you are not aware of the company you work for then it is your own fault if you don't have a way to get home. People in this country have lost the spirit of self responsibility and expect everyone else to help them.

Sorry for the drivers that got caught away from home. Other drivers out of their own willingness to give gave what they could, and helped get drivers home. Charity starts at home, not by begging, or expecting others to help you when you are in a down and out spot.

Not all of us man, merely a select few. Ignore them and it tears 'em up.
Just like on the cb and you know that they are the biggest rambos out there from reading their drivel here.
In fact I bet they do not drive the trucks they avatar up rather they are relegated to those less than the posted speed limit large cars. You can also take the supposed number of years they have driven as posted and make that years read months. That is a much more accurate representation of their actual driving time IMHO.
Stereotypical attire and looks as well-

I think the point is missed. You are responsible to make sure that if all else fail you have them means or method to take care of yourself. Part of what is wrong with this country is the " Poor Me someone needs to help me" Get some self respect. It is uo to you to make sure you have a way back to your family. There is no reason to expect Truckstops or finance companies to look out for you when you don't care enough to look out for yourself.

It was a great thing that most of the trucking companies were willing to jump in and help, just because it was not posted here (or you didn't hear about it) does not mean it did or did not happen.

There were several things organized on Facebook and other places to help these drivers. There alot of us that have done things that we may not want to post here, simply because I may have helped or not in not anyone else business.

With 2 years of experience get off your soap box, your still wet behind the ears as far as trucking. And by the way Walmart has not done the US economy any good, in fact they have single handed destroyed more small america business than any other company.

Your first mis-take was about throwing out Pee Bottles and trashing truck stops. It is not fair to other drivers nor truck stop employees to put up with such messes.
Your second mistake was posting a 6 figure income from trucking. Any one eager to tell others this information is probably less than truthful.

    It could be.....
    But if you are working...
Don't bite the hand that feeds you......
Not every carrier out there is an Arrow.......

I get tired of drivers thinking that they are "owed a living".....If you guys saw what a business has to deal with on a day to day operation....you might change your attitudes.....

I challenge any one of you to get half of the certifications I have had to get this past couple of years to remain in compliance.....

All you company drivers have to worry about is doing what your told to do....That's easy compared to running a company....

Come on...any of you think you can run compliantly; make payroll and show a profit?

Arrow is example in a long list of failures.....
Get used to it...get smart and educate yourselves instead of whining and then hanging out in the TS lounges.....

You all obviously have a computer...use it for something useful than for whining....

This needs to be focused on the ownership and management of Arrow - the only ones "truly" responsible.

Toys for tots is for children, how have yet to make any choices in life. And these companies would basically be "rewarding" An underhanded move by an unscrupulous company - no way to keep records, and just a poor business decision in general.

They didn't even have to provide the ticket - this was not Daimler credit's fault.

Again - ownership and management of Arrow ...

Non-unionized labor is despised by unions, and the cause of the lowest wages in transportation - in history compared to the cost of living.

They are thinking ... "I told you so"

OOIDA has done a lot for independent drivers - which is their mission.

Companies like these are one of the biggest problems in trucking, and the drivers that continually work for measly wages.

They helped the best they could.

    Then who's next?

The federal government has already paid out record unemployment benefits - of which you can now draw.

Trillions in debt, and taxpayers have to foot the bill for drivers who were unprepared?

    :biggrin_2556:

The outpouring of support I seen over Xmas was incredible - a real credit to the industry - and a whole lot of drivers were assisted.

    I agree!

And doing that may have resulted in money in these drivers pockets to get home ...
