    Hey Guys/Gals,

I wondering if someone could recommend the best Road Atlas to download? Ol' Rand seems like its going to win out but if I'm going to buy this tool I want to best there is. My tablet has made searching for locations, in cities for sure, much easier.

I will be using my tablet the most as it is fast and easy to pull up maps of city streets and I have a much larger view than my phone provides but I'm sick of using my data time for this process.

I DO NOT NEED A GPS...............I WANT MAPS ONLY........DATA PACKAGE FREE!

    Downloading maps.

    Any advice, experiences welcomed!

    Thanks,

    Bryan

I would definitely go with a real GPS unit. The cheap ones that run off data will get you stuck of you're in a boondock. Real GPS uses satellites, not data. Saves time and money.

Really, just get a cheaper truckers GPS, to start off with. Then later on grab a more expensive one.
It might be a real hassle having to stop traffic, go off route or miss a turn because you're not going to be able to stare at the tablet the whole time lol.

Yeah Streets and Trips is about the best PC software.

I personally like Google Maps because you can see real life and see street level and signs.

Trucking software isn't 100% reliable. They take standard Navteq routing software and modify it. What have they missed?

Thanks for the Streets and Maps suggestion.

I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER GPS.

I just want maps that do not use my minutes. I already have a great GPS but I like to know where I'm going first. I the city is no place for a mistake that ONE GLANCE at a map would correct.

Again guys I want map....ACTUAL maps...just in digital form vs. paper

Just maps? I agree with MS Streets as a cheap, but good one for laptops, and CoPilot for Android or Apple (non-truck version if you are keeping the cost low)

So basically I'm backing up both Snowy and Condo depending on what the device is. Your thread says "PC/Tablet." So I am assuming that you mean a Windows-based machine.

Since you don't want GPS, you can get MS Streets/Trip for about $35. The $69 is with GPS module (nice backup). The program goes right down to invidual streets in cities/towns. I used to use the non-gps version in a service repair business with very good luck.
