That tune up is completely worthless until you perfect your antenna system.

Like I said before if you can't master 4 Watts then you're wasting your money on a big radio.
If you really want to see what that radio is capable of doing put it in your Dodge truck with a Wilson 5000 magnet mount and you'll be really impressed.

I wouldn't go as far as saying completely worthless.

Ridgeline got the Cascadia to work, albeit with far more effort than an average company driver is even going to be allowed to put in.

And I've said it before and I'll say it again. 26 miles, like we were sitting in the trucks with each other, with the 7' Firestick and a 3' Francis as the ground radial. We probably could have done another 10-15 miles easily that night.

Of course, until I get the noise issue worked out, I'm not going to be duplicating that in this Cascadia.

    I
Is yours the one with the noisy Qualcomm? Could you maybe build a little Faraday cage around it.

I don't see Mark stepping up to the plate and staying on the phone with Craig for 24 hours to guide him through the process.
That was an antenna that I built for myself because the truck had electrical current flowing through the sheet metal skin of the body and I had to isolate the antenna from the body of the vehicle.. I've always got the easy answer for everyone's problem even if it might not seem like it at the time..
