    Now that you got that system perfected if you wanted to run some power it would be really easy to beef up that system with some heavier components to handle the amperage

    I wouldn't consider the money wasted but I would consider the money wasted if you insist on sticking with your current antenna system.
    There's always a cheap easy solution to every problem

    The biggest learning experience will happen when you put a magnet mount on your Dodge truck and get a 60-mile radio check.
    Once you figure that out the rest is easy

    I don't think a faraday cage around the qualcomm black box is going to affect my radio receive. Unless of course you're talking about the noise from the Q/C, in which case yes, absolutely it hinders receive.

    I am here to offer advice in regards to the best performance for the least amount of money.
    Antenna system being the most important thing of all. That guy had no reason to lie about having a stock Cobra 29. I forgot to mention there was a big mountain between he and I.
    Just goes to show how important your antenna system really is. It also demonstrates that if he had receiver sensitivity like mine, I could reduce my power output to 4 watts and he would hear me just fine.

    it's not that hard to run a big radio at all just takes more $$$ more effort and a little time...and no cutting corners at all.
