If it performs better and holds up well there eventually be a market. Problem is for a marketer to hold on long enough.

I just got a text on Facebook from one of Marks customers who lives about an hour and a half away from me and this is what he said and the picture he sent....[IMG]

"Long distance radio check my general hp40 to our loader operator he has marks 955 stryker"

Sounds like another happy customer. 48 Miles mobile to mobile Barefoot is pretty cool it sounds pretty typical. This just goes to show the potential when you have one of Mark's radios on both sides of the conversation it allows you to put more distance between the two radios and still maintain communication both ways.

Reason for edit: Better receive equates to Greater distance between stations

That guy had a cool idea about the screenshot I never even thought about doing such a thing so here goes.[IMG]

Long distance communication on Channel 19 from my Volvo 770 to Marks base antenna with a mountain in between us.

So what kind of crazy "magic" does this guy do to a cheap CB radio to get these miracle distances without propogation? LOL

Besides raising the frequency response and fine tuning the output which helps a little bit over a stock radio the only way you're going to get that crazy distance is to have one of his radios on the receiving end of the conversation it's the receive sensitivity that determines how far you can hear me. And it's my receiver sensitivity which determines how far I can hear you so it's a two-way street. Like I said I often hear stock Cobra 29 @ 30 miles away but unless you have one of his radios you won't be able to hear the same distance unless you had a radio tuned by Ron Damron in Fontana California but Rons audio is hit-and-miss.

In all fairness in my particular circumstances I was running 150 watts into a homemade beam antenna off a Volvo 770 and I was talking to someone running 800 Watts from a base antenna.

Makes me effing sick...Unless im skipping im 3/5 mi at best..Dont know what else to do with out massive changes on my truck..

RABBI..Just had a thought...You mentioned heat shrinking the shaft of your ant..What if i wrapped my ant mount shaft (remember i have the 40" shaft under my predator 22" shaft)with a ground strap and then heat shrinked it,will the ant see that as more metal for ground plane or will i end up makeing my ant a base load of sorts...OOOORRRRR will the ant see that as tuning of sorts..
