no way that would happen with me....that 955 you get back should have that $50 receive upgrade that he shows is available. if that radio with the upgrade and 40"mount and a 22" shaft on a predator do not receive 15/20 miles all day everyday they never will.........

 

im going to have someone else build me the same radio hes building you....I'm not waiting a year for a radio to be built for me.it's not happening.....

 

I'm not and have not figured out what antenna stuff needs figured out here with your situation I basically run the same thing you do..... but with a different antenna there are a lot better antennas out there than a predator.... kale now has a new predator antenna out he calls the sweetie pie. I haven't seen one yet but he tells everyone it's the best antenna he has ever built......... I dunno

 

Saw a vid of that ant last night on you tube..It looks like a twin coil but with more wraps..
I did ask mark for the rev upgrade for my 955 so time will tell..
Although we run the same basic ant set up,ridgeling said that all 3 of the cascadias needed different kinda work..
Think im gonna try a ground plane kit and see if those lil radials will simulate enough ground plane to help tx/rec then maybe the dipole deal..I did the dp thing before but zero difference but i also didnt have either ant isolated..

 

When I first got into this Cascadia I had a Predator 10k with 27 inch shaft and had my Galaxy 99v2 in line and I was able to communicate with others 15 to 20 miles away, ground plane or no ground plane.

 

Well it seems no two of the same trucks are alike..What worked for you and bored just aint workin for me..Its possible im overlooking something to...Jjst seems strange i can talk skip 1000 plus mi away,i can hear and talk to a fellow trucker 90ish mi away and to a base station 30 mi away...Yet 5 or so mi from trk to trk is #### near impossible...I have a cpl times been able to listen to the cb man in carlisle pa from roughly 30 mi away but cant talk to him but that could be because i get walked on by radios closer than me..
Im just determined to get more is all..I get cranky cause im finding to much misinformation,to many suggestions that all say works but others sayin no..My set up should be doin such and such ect ect ect..Just all tickin me off cause i dont have enough ant theory to understand whats what and how to solve an issue..Thats kinda why i started a thread antenna for dummys..Was hopin there was such a publication i could referr to for problem solving and theory..No luck as of yet..The guys that know this stuff are usually to busy to help us that dont know and tryin to determine the issue and resolve it through a forum like this is almost impossible at best..
BUT ill keep tryin..

 

No time frame was discussed but in on a short list..Hopefully its not a yr cause if this cancer gets to me by then ill not really need it..But good news is this far the trial drug is working,no specific details as of yet till dr comes in shortly but i got a thumbs up from my trials nurse..Still not a cure though..

 

Ground plane must be resonant. Random length ground won't work.

 

What about any suggestions or recomendations from Hard Drive.
