If the structural integrity of your bracket is the limiting factor then it might be worthwhile to copy Neverready's idea

Otherwise be prepared to invest a lot of money in stainless steel and Fabrication costs to custom design a heavier-duty bracket

Thanks for the advice, Ive just been using a 5' fiberglass but I have been reading where the fiberglass top loaded antennas especially need a good ground plane (fact or fiction?) so have been rethinking my setup, and may go the route that you are suggesting Rabbi, and invest in a better quality mount and go back to 10k with the 27 inch shaft, because it did work really good.

Absolutely no such thing as a ground plane hanging off the side of a truck but every antenna regardless of who made it needs a counterpoise of some sort

talking truck to truck is not something I personally worry about....there are many high $$$ antennas on trucks out here.but just because I know my equipment is set up correctly it does not mean their equipment is set correctly ?????

not going back to the ole mirror mount deal myself...personally I think the mount you and I use is the very best available for a very very crappy trk. crappy is the nice word for it....
