I think its always poor rx capabilities on other radios. My best contacts are to base stations with excellent antenna setups, and sometimes other mobile setups will say " your fading " and we are only 3 miles apart.

Craig, I bet if I were in my Ford F 150 with my Galaxy 99v2 and wilson 1000 magnet mount antenna, I m sure we would be able to communicate 15 to 20 miles no problem.

    You should be by now.

I stepped away from this to work on the CB project. I know I have a good setup on the rig I'm using to test with but everyone else seems to have a setup that sucks, today I confirmed that. We had visitors at the little shop on my rented site, it was a Canadian driver who has been helping me do testing, he is over in Windsor and we regularly talk. Well today he had his truck over here and stopped by. I tested his setup, the radio was fine but the coax was bad, so it got replaced. Now he can hear me with no issues going east on the 401.
