Yes that’s about how long it took. That and 100 frame bolts. Quite a job.

It ate the bottom flange of the right side rail in spots. Would no longer pass inspection. I could have gotten away with only the right side but decided to do them both.

 

This is one area that truck builders could really help their customers. The thin black paint doesn’t do much to hold back the rust. The northern climates do a number on thinly painted steel. Had I known, I would have paid more for a better coating.
