Hey Marten drivers,
I want to apply to Marten. Any advice you can share regarding the Marten application would be appreciated. The recruiter told me he only goes back 1 year and said DOT goes back 3 years. Are non-preventable accidents posted on my current company's record? Do I need to report non-preventative accidents on the Marten application?
Do I need to report that I got hit in 2008 while I was asleep at a truck stop by another truck driver. My current company made a claim against the other driver but I was not charged with an accident. Also had a non-preventable accident a few weeks ago, and the police made a report charging the dump truck driver with fault and I was not charged with an accident. The dump truck backed into my truck while I was not moving and my current company made a claim against the dump truck company.
I do not want to report these 2 non-preventable accidents if I don't have to. When I told the Marten recruiter that I damaged a trailer door in 2010 he said that he will only go back 1 year, but that I should still put that incident on the application.
You know anything about Marten's Flex program?
Thanks Guys

Absolutely tell them because it could show as a non preventable on dac. I had an incident where i chunk of ice came off a truck beside me at 50 mph and hit the corner of my truck doing damage and every company thus far has asked me why i didnt list it.

Yeah, all truck companies want to know about all accidents/incidents. Believe it or not, some people are accident prone and can't seem to go a month without having one and insurance companies know this, even if not at fault. In the case of the dump truck backing into you, it could be argued that you should have been 10 feet back or 10 feet forward. Or you should have seen him and honked to alert him. Or you shouldn't have been sitting there if you could have been sitting a block away. Try not to position yourself to get into an accident if possible.
