As was said, Do a little research and you will find all kinds of info on CSA 2010. It will affect all drivers the same. OTR, regional, short haul, local what ever. If you dive a truck it will affect you. Have a clean DMV and you have no problem. Be a screw up and don't do your pre-trips right, get speeding tickets, Over weight tickets, OSS etc. etc. and it's by, by Mr wish-I-could-drive-but-I-can't. My 2 cents. The 100,000+ divers who are going to be out on there butts. I say good by and good riden's. About time we got rid of the trash.

Ex-Marten driver here. I enjoyed my time there although unfortunately it was too brief. Worked for them for 6 months ran regional out of Irving. Never had much of a problem getting miles, and consistently averaged 2500/wk. Only complaint I really have is I would be really tight on some of my dispatches, never ran late, but I did some "creative" logging to keep it legal on paper. Unfortunately they WILL audit your log against the Qualcolmm and that's what happened to me. I might have received a stern warning, but I did have a preventable with them when I bumped another driver's mirror in the yard at the Irving terminal. (Anybody who has ever been at that terminal can tell you it ain't the easiest place to get in or out of.)
SavageSam Thanks this. -
What did they do to you for the mirror? Was that the "Stern warning"?

I had trouble with scheduling and long waits too. Can't tell you how many 4 hour+ waits I went through, and then on top of that, you have to pay lumpers for the privilege of waiting. -
I just went through the same thing, worked very well for them 2001-2006 then quit for allegedly "greener pastures" found out that does not exist, then got my job back with Marten until 2008 when I joined my husband teaming for other co. I'm solo again, and Marten wont re-hire me presently, and wont give reason. I contacted my F.M. with Marten (hell of a nice guy) who said the policy is no more re-hires. I had a good safety record with them, no log violations etc.. although once I did receive a "warning" ticket in Michigan(upper peninsula) by a trooper for not showing change of status( I stopped to shower) and didnt go off drive line(am I bad)... Marten safety put me on 1 year probation for that little warning(bit severe, I know) but they were in trouble with driver safe stats at that time with excessive driver log violation, so I understand. Their stats have lowered tremendously now, so I guess they knew what they were doing! So, if you are presently hired on with Marten, be warned...Pastures are not greener..stay where you are or you wont be able to come back!!

Yep thats true 58, They do not want re-hires back. As for as they are concerned If you leave stay gone. They are also VERY strict with the log book. I run it strictly legal. As soon as it gets to the point where I can't make a del legal I tell them. They have there little panic attack, Scream and howl about it must be on-time. And then we talk about a new appt. time. I will say 8-10 times as soon as I send in a msg about needing to get moving or load will be late. I get loaded real fast. Maybe just me but 75% of the time I del early. Don't know, maybe I'm just lucky with the right trips.
As far getting fired for a small bump, They will combine things. Like already having a small accident and then getting busted for logs. Or getting 2 tickets with-in 90 days. Seen a guy last week get fired for that one. He didn't have open road so he had no way to fight them. He paid both of them and they fired him. Marten cleaned up there safety rating and they want to make #### sure it stays that way.tmellen58 Thanks this. -
