750-800 miles per day???
I logged 65mph (actually averaged that) running flats and that came to 715/day when I could do it (barring traffic, breakdowns, idiot shippers or consignee's, idiot dispatch, bubbleguts, etc....).
Not disputing you or anything, cause I have no dog in this fight, but you never got fined for logbook violations?

That's only 48mph! Don't wanna be behind that one!
It IS possible to do 800+ miles in a day. Start at midnight. Drive 11 hours. Take a 10 hour break. Drive the last three hours... assuming you drove 11 solid, no stops, breaks, etc. All at 65mph, you can log 905 miles. You couldn't do that EVERY day, because we DO make pick ups and deliveries, etc. have meals, take potty breaks (except some specialize in TALKING theirs out...), etc. and you would very quickly hit your 70 for the week. I think the most I have logged in a 24-hour period is 815 or something like that. But that is rare. Million in five years? Smokin' the same things as Obama... -
That's what a log book is and they make special cryon's for this! Lie like hell and make it look good. It's simple really. That's why I like running loose leaf.

And yeah, I guess you could do it legal out in the Mid-west, if you wanted to drive, no stops no breaks, no fueling, no meals, and wearing a diaper. If that's what you call a good time...knock yourself out! (I promised myself prior to this I was out of this loop...now I am definitely through with it. I leave it to y'all to continue to beat this dead horse. -
I'm a veteran driver looking to sign on with Martin. Yeh or ney?

Actually, you can drive 10 hrs per day, 6 days per week, and log 64.2 mph and run over 1,000,000 mi in 5 years. If you work it right and finish early enough on day six you get a 34 hr restart every week too.

Stick to your guns lostheart. You can actually run over 1,000,000 in 5 yrs and still get a 34 hr restart every week if you work it right. If you run 10 hrs per day and log it at 64.2 mph that is 642 mi per day. Average 642 mi x 6 days per week x 52 weeks x 5 yrs = 1,001,520. If you finish early enough on day 6 you can log a 34 hr restart every week.

The only way you could average that kind of milage is by creative logging even then you would be hard pressed to do that even with clear roads and eveyone moving out of your way. I'm not saying you didn't do that many miles in five years just don't try to make us buy that you did it legally. And I would advise that if you still use loose leaf logs or however you do it that you make sure that your log matches your bols and fuel recipts. Dot everywhere is cracking down hard everywhere now seems they think truckers always push their limits. I just got pulled over going west on the 287 towards amarillo for a random dot inspection. I was good to go just got a warning for a fire ext that was not mounted.

OK boys/girls, lets drop the arguement, really, who cares?! The point on here is to hear from current Marten drivers, I for one would like to hear about the company. Do they allow pets? Do they pay detention? How is the lease purchase plan? And most importantly, do they have any miles??
Thanks in advance.longbedGTs, dynosaur, Saturn999 and 1 other person Thank this. -
But, while this thread seemed to get off to a great start, we let one person hijack it and ended up on a long, senseless, winding road to nowhere. I am as guilty, if not more so, for allowing that to happen; and for my part I do apologize.
With that said: I'd also like to know if Marten has a pet policy? Are they hiring? If so, do they hire more from any particular region?greenwheeler Thanks this.
