I agree.I don't have weight issues but this clearly is discrimination.Did you have to pay for the treatment or does the company?

So then you can't really provide a correct answer to my test question. That's OK, I understand you want to be a good little sheep and not make waves, just do as you're told even if you don't know what it is you are being told to do, just follow the herd, don't worry about that big bloody blade waiting for you up there at the top of that ramp........go ahead, move along I promise you will be OK.........WHACK, OOPS, I LIED!!!!!
What happens if they change the proposed guidelines for the next sheep in line just after you got whacked........nothing is written in stone as of yet, things change, especially with these kinds of issues, Heck they're still fighting over the HOS changes from 10 years ago. If and when there is ever an actual regulation decided on then I will abide, but all of this sleep apnea stuff is completely arbitrary, merely at the whim of some doctor you may not even know.
Get back to me when you understand the difference between a regulation, a recommendation and a proposed guideline.
I'll probably be retired by then.
The only big thing changing for sure right now regarding medical qualifications is that as of the first of the year doctors wishing to do DOT Physicals will have to purchase a License ($795 a year) from the Feds and be included on an approved list.
They are simply chasing a lot of smaller private physicians out of the game and catering to the DOT clinics and testing mills who will go along with the fraud, graft and corruption built into the system. Once again this goes to show it's all about money, simple as that. Who is gonna divide up more of your hard earned dollars all in the name of safety and the children......but that's OK, just keep the blinders on. -

Some of us don't need a company to make a living, some of us are actually more than capable of doing so on our own, this does not make us rebels, it merely makes up independent of many of the binds of corporate America, however when our ability to earn a living is threatened by more and more intrusion seeking a solution to a problem that as of yet is not proven to exist then yes, I am going to fight back. The last thing I want to happen is to kill, injure or maim someone through my ignorance........if I even had and inkling I had a health issue that would endanger the motoring public then I would immediately have it addressed, but I don't need some govt. hacks telling me I suffer from some kind of newly invented affliction just so they can justify their own lame existence. -
OK, I get it......you're an outsider who evidently can't even get qualified to turn a steering wheel taking your frustrations out on some who can actually think for themselves......OK, fine, I'm done with you......until now I wasn't aware I was dealing with a delusional soul possessing the brainpower of a pea.RickG Thanks this. -

If a company requires such a test then that's not a problem if they posted it on their web site along with you the driver pays for it.Then of course use your own judgement if the company is for you or not.Drivers don't think to ask them about this test because this is relatively new. It's targeted at overweight ppl and that's a form of discrimination.

It isn't just the cost of the initial tests . Required follow up tests are required to document effective treatment . Who in their right mind would go through this expense to work for a bottom feeder OTR starter carrier ?Ranger Bob Thanks this.
